Topsail Beach, NC— The Historical Society of Topsail Island Volunteer Appreciation Party was held on Tuesday, March 17, at the Historic Assembly Building in Topsail Beach, celebrating the dedication and service of the organization’s volunteers. Embracing a St. Patrick’s Day theme, the evening highlighted just how “lucky” the Society is to have such committed supporters.

The afternoon was emceed by Edna Smith, who introduced the Board of Directors. Committee chairpersons and members were also recognized for their contributions. Committees represented included Autumn with Topsail, Bingo, Luncheon, Education, Museum Docents, Ghost Walk, Visit Colonial Topsail, Jingle Bell Ball, and our newest fundraising event, the HSTI Annual Golf Classic, which takes place on 10 April.

Entertainment was provided by local performers Joan & George Green, and Deborah Lanham from Dancing at the Beach, delighting guests with traditional Irish dancing. The event featured catering by Fusion Blue, with desserts provided by Twisted Sisters, adding to the festive atmosphere of the celebration.

Chairperson of the Volunteer committee, Ann Tumblin, emphasized the vital role volunteers play in the organization, stating, “There would be no Historical Society without their continued support”.

The Historical Society of Topsail Island extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers whose time and dedication help preserve and share the island’s rich history.
