SURF CITY – “The Helpful Place” will soon be part of the Surf City, Holly Ridge, and Topsail Island communities.

Scheduled to open its doors in Spring 2025, Lori’s Ace Home & Hardware will be located at 14021 NC-50 in Surf City. True to the Ace brand, Lori’s Ace will provide an elevated service experience and high-quality product selection from best brands like Stihl, Milwaukee, Big Green Egg, Traeger, Benjamin Moore, Yeti, and many more.

Lori’s Ace not only offers products in familiar categories such as paint, grilling, outdoor power, electrical, plumbing and hardware, but also a vast selection of home and garden décor and gifts, lawn and garden supplies, kitchen and bath accessories, wild bird food and feeders, pool supplies, cleaning supplies, and live plants in the Garden Center.

and businesses in Surf City, Topsail Island, and the surrounding communities,” said Lori Tracy Stobbe, president and co-owner. “Everyone we talk to is already excited for the store to open, and we’re looking forward to making a positive impact in the community.”

This is the second Ace store for owners Lori Tracy Stobbe and Nate Stobbe, who moved to North Carolina from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota in June 2022. Their first store is in Fayetteville and has been very well received in the community. “After a year and a half, we still have people every day thanking us for opening the store,” said Tracy Stobbe. “Knowing we are making a positive impact in people’s lives is what drives us every day.”

Lori has over 25 years of experience leading and developing marketing, communications and branding for national, regional and local businesses. Nate has over 30 years of experience leading commercial building manufacturing and custom home building companies.

The hiring process for the Surf City store will begin in February and will include Assistant Store Manager, Sales Associate and Cashier positions. Lori’s Ace will be looking for team members who get their energy from helping others, are eager to learn, are good problem solvers, and can provide superior service with a smile. Available positions will be posted online early next year.
