Fusion Blue opens restaurant in Holly Ridge

Fusion Blue Cuisine is known for its catering and food truck. In their recipe for success, the owners have added the Fusion Blue Bistro, a restaurant serving the Greater Topsail Area.

When the former Deli Works location became available on Sound Road in Holly Ridge, they opened Fusion Blue Bistro. They continue to utilize the food truck, and they accept catering opportunities.

“We appreciate the support this community has shown us,” said Chris. “We have a lot of businesses that are catering their Christmas parties. We enjoy it. We’ve put much love into the business and we’re growing.”

They have expanded Fusion Blue Bistro with a patio area, complete with tables, grills, and patio lights. The backdrop is wooded, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

“We’re hosting wine tastings once a month and we offer varying beer-matching dinners,” said Chef Chris. “Sandpiper Brewing made a tap for their specialty beer. We are pleased to serve beer from Sandpiper Brewing and Salty Turtle. They serve locally sourced seafood, and purchase from local Farmers Markets when fresh produce is available.

“We believe in supporting local businesses and local charities, added Chef Chris.”

The Gates have donated to causes such as Pender Bridge of Hope, the American Cancer Society, and Chef Chris was auctioned off for private service for one fundraiser.

“We’re an Ocean Friendly Establishment and are eco-friendly,” added Laura.

Over Thanksgiving, Fusion Blue Bistro prepared Thanksgiving Dinner packages for pick-up. Customers enjoyed Fusion Blue Bistro’s Carved Cajun Turkey Breast and a choice of side dishes.

Fusion Blue Bistro features a Burger of the Week. Customers can also build their burgers.

“I love to cook,” said Chef Chris. “I’ve been working in restaurants since I was a kid. I enjoy it.”

Last month, Fusion Blue Bistro captured first place in the Share the Table Restaurant Round-up.

“We took second place last year, so we are very pleased to take first place this year,” said Laura Gates, who co-owns Fusion Blue Bisto with her husband, Chris Gates.

“We entered our North Carolina Sea Bass Ceviche and our pulled pork tacos,” said Chef Chris.

Fusion Blue Bistro is open Wednesdays through Sundays, 12-8 p.m. They are located at 325 Sound Rd., in Holly Ridge. To view the menu, visit https://www.fusionbluecuisine.com.
