TOPSAIL BEACH – Application for scholarships offered by the Historical Society of Topsail Island (HSTI) is now available online and at the counseling centers of Topsail High School, Dixon High School, and Pender Early College. Early College and homeschooled seniors must live in the Dixon High School or Topsail High School attendance area.

Applicants must choose a historical event that occurred in Onslow or Pender counties. “The HSTI Education Committee evaluates each scholarship entry using a blind entry scoring rubric”, said Karen Gavigan, Chairperson of the HSTI Education Committee. She added, “The Historical Society of Topsail Island scholarships are awarded on several criteria, including an unweighted 2.5 grade point average or above, student activities, and original essays or art.”   

Students planning to attend a two or four-year college or trade school are encouraged to apply. 

The application deadline is February 14, 2025. The scholarships will be awarded at a special luncheon at the Historic Assembly Building, 720 Channel Blvd. Topsail Beach.
