Topsail Area Chamber to Host a Candidates’ Night in Hampstead
Informative forum welcomes public
HAMPSTEAD — Voters in Pender County will head to the polls on November 3, to elect county commissioners, board of education members, judges, state representatives, and other officials.
To help inform voters, the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism will host a Candidates’ Night, offering residents the opportunity to hear directly from those seeking public office in Pender County.
The Pender County Candidates Night is set for Sept. 24, beginning promptly at 7 p.m. at the Pender County Government Annex, 15060 US Hwy. 17 in Hampstead.
Letters were sent to candidates who have filed with the Pender County Board of Elections. The Chamber will also welcome write-in candidates if they rsvp to the Chamber office by Sept. 22.
“The Chamber doesn’t endorse candidates,” said Tammy Proctor, Director of the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. “As representatives of the business community, we work with all elected officials to support our region.”
The forum begins promptly at 7 p.m., and is expected to conclude by 9 p.m.
“Our format is simple and fair,” added Proctor. “Each candidate will be introduced and given equal time to respond to written questions from the public.”
Please contact the Chamber for more information at 910-329-4446.
